Thai Yoga Massage in Pregnancy
(dry style)

Thai Yoga Massage can be experienced safely throughout pregnancy (after the first three months). This treatment combines energy line work with rhythmic light acupressure and gentle stretches. It is very effective at relieving the back pain associated with the extra weight (from the lower back including the thoracic and upper back areas). Thai Massage is also beneficial for the pregnant mother in the way as it can improve the blood circulation, especially in her feet and ankles which are often swollen.

Mostly applied in a comfortable and propped-up side-lying position, the treatment starts at the feet and works its way up the body, finishing at the head - possibly in a sitting position at the end, should the mother be comfortable.

Your baby will share the stimulation by the energy flow and might be responsive to it. It is a great treat which will leave the expecting mother in a much deserved relaxed, yet energised, state.

Prenatal Massage (with oil)

Available after the first three months, this relaxing treatment may be given in side-lying and sitting positions. This provides relief from emotional and physical stress (i.e. muscle cramps, spasms and myofascial pain, especially in the lower back, neck, hips, and legs). It can reduce swelling by increasing blood and lymph circulation, and also help stabilise hormone levels.

I use grapeseed oil which is safe for the baby and enhances the pliability of the stomach skin. Your baby will share the stimulation of the energy flow and will be responsive to it. The mum-to-be will be left in a much deserved, relaxed, yet energised, state.
